When Family Church became my home, I was a little surprised at how the “Three Circles” movement was creating such an impact in the church and in the community. I wanted to be a part of the movement , but I was too scared to actually share the good news. I didn’t know how to start the conversation. I didn’t know how people would react to the Three Circles or if I was even prepared enough to share the Gospel that way.
As time passed and I saw more and more people coming to Christ, I really wanted to be a part of it all. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, I saw how my parents would evangelize and I wanted to be like them. The Three Circles, however, was a totally different approach. Going to Family Church’s Leadership Rally gave me the courage, strength and enthusiasm that I needed to to give it a try. It helped me realize that I wasn’t always going to get a “green light.” Some people were going to accept it and realize that they need the Gospel, while others were just going to say no. So I began to share the Gospel using the Three Circles.
First, I began with my family. Just getting it out of my system and being able to share the Gospel and answer questions was great! They were amazed at the fact that the Gospel was explained with a simple drawing in a few minutes. Showing this to my parents gave me even more courage to share the Gospel more and more. Later that month, my girlfriend and I planned a party to start off the school year with a few students to encourage them and to share the Three Circles. It was a total success! They all responded well and committed to sharing the Three Circles with a friend at school.
I shared the Three Circles many more times with friends and people that I came across daily. One moment that struck me the most was with a man that visits my job regularly. He walked up to me, talking about his divorce and how it was all a mess. I went on to share the Three Circles with him and saw how he agreed with it all. He hasn’t put his faith in Christ yet, but I’m still praying that he does!
When the Samaritan woman met Jesus at the well in John 4, she immediately went into town and told everybody about her encounter. She didn’t think of what people would say: she just did it. In spite of our fears and worries, we need to share the good news of Jesus, just as she did.
