Some church planters might be unaware of the need or the demographics affecting church planting efforts in south Florida.
When people refer to “South Florida” and its needs for churches they are referring to the three most southern counties located on the eastern or “Atlantic” coast. These counties are Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade. These counties are approximately 96% unchurched. We believe that the church is the most effective evangelism strategy for seeing the gospel brought into communities and people groups.
To get a better feel of the size of these counties and their uniqueness you can open the following powerpoint – South Florida Statistics.
First Baptist of West Palm Beach will launch its residency program for church planters on September 9th, 2012. We have had an amazing response from men who want to be trained, mentored and thoroughly equipped for the churches that we are planting.
This fall we launch our third “Family Church.” This churches missional focus will be Haitian Americans. Sunday, Micah Millican (NAMB representative) and I visited with their launch team and we were both very encouraged with their preparations.
